If you are originally from Trinidad and Tobago, but you've moved to a different country, chances are you've gone through quite a few challenges along the way. Let's talk about it!
Haarlem Night: This was my first peaceful moment since arriving in the Netherlands. I had been so scared and nervous about everything, but walking past this beautiful scene made me take a breath and appreciate life's true beauty in this new home of mine.
Utrecht Mall: My first mall visit here was a huge throw-back: malls remind me of first dates with my husband and family outings in Gulf City
Harlemmerhout: My husband brought me to this park when he knew I was missing a taste of our rural country life back in Trini. To this day, I still visit this park when I am homesick.
From a tiny island to a sprawling continent, I'm just a curious wandering soul, trying to navigate a new and exciting life. My story is simple: I took my partner's hand, and we moved away from our old home, to make a new one.
How many others like me are out there? Do my fellow Trinidadians and Tobagonians feel the same way I do?
And if they don't, what are their stories? What's YOUR story ?
It takes some time, effort and perhaps a little bit of love from your family far away - phone calls, photos, and maybe the occasional snack, all help!
Do you want to chat about your migration adventure? Or do you need to express some strong feelings, and you're looking for a subjective ear?
